A New Project for Martin Scorsese

It looks like Martin Scorsese is prepping a new project, and no, it doesn’t star Vinnie Chase. The film is called Falcon’s Tale and was spotted by the folks over at Cinema Blend in the latest issue of Production Weekly.
The industry magazine describes the film: “A career criminal is sent inside a high security, mental institution to discover the whereabouts of a serial killers victims.”
That doesn’t tell us too much, but Peter over at Slash Film was able to find some more info. The project apparently started as a story James Keene and author/reporter Hillel Levin sold to Playboy. It was acquired by Paramount last year.
A more detailed outline thanks to Slash Film: “James Keene was serving a 10-year-to-life sentence as a convicted drug dealer when the FBI came to him with an amazing offer. They wanted him to enter a high-security prison for the criminally insane in order to get information from a suspected serial killer awaiting retrial. If he helped them succeed, they would free James from prison. Only one person in the prison would know Jim’s true identity.”
William Monahan (The Departed) is apparently writing the screenplay, which is awesome. I can only assume/hope that Leonardo DiCaprio will have a role in the flick.
We’ll have more on Falcon’s Tale as it comes in.
