Seeing as how his future career as Superman is up in the air (no pun intended), Brandon Routh better start filling up his filmography with some new roles, and that’s exactly what he’s doing. The actor has just signed to the suspense thriller Unthinkable, which is being directed by Gregor Jordan (Ned Kelly, Buffalo Soldiers).

Routh joins Samuel L. Jackson, Carrie Anne Moss, Michael Seen, as well as Gil Bellows, and Martin Donovan who also just signed on to the flick.

Routh and Bellows play members of an FBI anti-terrorism team run by Agent Brody (Moss). With the help of a black-ops agent (Jackson), they’re assigned by an FBI director (Donovan) to interrogate an American Muslim man (Sheen) claiming to have nuclear bombs planted in three U.S. cities.

Unthinkable was written by Oren Moverman (I’m Not There, Married Life) and Peter Woodward (Closing the Ring).

Principal photography is set to begin October 20 in Los Angeles.
