Clint Eastwood Ventures Into the Supernatural

The trades are reporting that Clint Eastwood is in talks to direct the supernatural thriller Hereafter, which is being developed by DreamWorks.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is described as in the vein of The Sixth Sense. It was written by Peter Morgan, whose credits include The Queen, The Other Boleyn Girl and Ron Howard’s upcoming Frost/Nixon.
DreamWorks, led by principals Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider, picked up the spec script in March when it was still a part of Paramount Pictures. They held onto the project as part of its separation pact with the studio and have been trying to get Eastwood to direct the project for months.
Eastwood’s Changeling recently opened and the director has Gran Torino, which he also stars in, scheduled to open in December. He previously worked with Spielberg on Flags of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima.
Hereafter will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy.
