First Trailer for Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York

Academy award winning screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation) makes his directorial debut with the drama Synecdoche, New York, and Yahoo has just debuted the first trailer. Philip Seymour Hoffman stars in the film as a theater director who struggles with his work, and the women in his life, as he attempts to create a life-size replica of New York inside a warehouse as part of his new play. The film also stars Samantha Morton, Catherine Keener, Emily Watson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michelle Williams and Hope Davis. It opens in limited release October 24.
