Frank Darabont Exits Law Abiding Citizen

Jamie Foxx only just joined the cast last week, and now it looks like Law Abiding Citizen will need to find a new director as Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) has left the film. The folks over at Ain’t it Cool were sent the following scoop:

Hey, guys. I have an extremely reliable source who says ‘[Frank] Darabont is out of LAW ABIDING CITIZEN and I mean really out. It apparently ended ugly.’ So take that and do what you will.

Harry Knowles, head honcho over at Ain’t it Cool, confirmed the scoop with Darabont who says he left the film over a week ago. That probably means Foxx joined the film knowing Darabont wouldn’t be directing.

Law Abiding Citizen is about s criminal mastermind who runs a dangerous operation from his prison cell, which threatens the safety of the city and an assistant D.A. who stands in his way.

Darabont also co-wrote the film with Kurt Wimmer (Ultraviolet).
