Funny Games Poster

One of the more under the radar ’08 flicks that I’m looking forward to is Funny Games. I hadn’t heard anything about it until I watch the first trailer, but I was immediately blown away. It’s a remake of the 1997 Austrian film of the same name, which tells the story of a family being held hostage by a couple of crazy dudes that force them to play twisted games for their amusement. The remake was written and directed Michael Henke, the same person who helmed the original. A new poster for the flick has now come online and delivers the same punch as the trailer. It’s a very simple design, yet highly effective.

Funny Games stars Naomi Watts, Brady Corbet, Michael Pitt and Tim Roth. It opens March 14.
