Gillian Anderson to Star and Produce Gellhorn

Gillian Anderson, who returns to the screen this July as Agent Scully in The X-Files: I Want to Believe, has acquired the rights to Gellhorn: A Twentieth-Century Life, a biography on Martha Gellhorn, reports Variety.

The actress will produce, via her company Fiddlehead Productions, as well as star as Gellhorn, a trailblazing female war correspondent who covered conflicts from the Spanish Civil War to Vietnam and weathered strife in personal relationships that included a failed marriage to Ernest Hemingway.

British playwright and screenwriter Sharman Macdonald is penning the feature adaptation.
