Halloween Sequel Finds Directors

Rob Zombie’s take on Halloween wasn’t great, but it was decent – something that can’t be said for most horror remakes these days. It also apparently did enough at the box office to warrant a sequel, but it looks like it’s a sequel that Zombie won’t be apart of.
The folks over at Arrow in the Head have dug up an interview from the latest issue of Rue Morgue Magazine that confirms the new director(s). According to the interview Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury are the ones who will be continuing the franchise.
“…it’s a proposition we couldn’t refuse,” Maury explained and added that he and Bustillo are well aware of Zombie’s re-imagining of Michael Myers and they’re out to put their stamp on the character, not copy what came before them. “Therefore, our vision will be done with utmost respect, with a continuity of [Zombie’s] work but also a real evolution of the world he set in place.“
Bustillo and Maury made a name for themselves with the French horror flick Inside. They’re also not new to the remake game, the duo were recently attached to the remake of Hellraiser, but are now off that project.
