Is a Friends Movie on the Way?

Sex and the City did it, Arrested Development looks like it’s about to do it, so why not a big screen Friends adventure too? Much like Arrested Development there has always been rumors of a Friends movie, and now it looks like one might be moving forward.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the highly anticipated film production of the hit NBC series has finally been given the go-ahead, and the whole cast will be back to reprise their roles. Apparently they’ve been inspired by the recent success of Sex And The City, which has so far made over $300 million worldwide.
Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions.The Daily Mail says the project should happen within the next 18 months.
The show, which starred Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, ended its ten season run in 2004.

OMG, another has been movie with blinding white lights to smear out the age lines. This show worked at first because none of them were “Hollywooded out”, but even that it got old after awhile and you started to see the crash diets and face lifts (*cough*,*cough*, Coutney Cox, *cough*). Now they’re just like the rest of the spoiled celebrity family…all botoxed, veneered and orange… God, are we seriously going to be exposed to the the whole Rach and horseface guy saga again? Watch out, this is going to be a big trend now… Shit, since Hollywood is reaching that far back, why don’t they do an “All in the family” movie or frickin “Happy Days”. I’d love to see Henry Winkler put that leather jacket on and kick the jukebox a couple more times. How fucking ridiculous this whole concept is….

Okay first of all, if the movie sucks, it doesnt matter. Millions of people will go see it no doubt, even if they are told it sucks. Lots of people are and were friends fans and would love to see the story continue. Therefore, if they release a movie, whether it sucks or not they will make a shiet load of money. In my opinion, most friends fans are stoked about the idea of a film, most people who reject the idea of a film dont like the show.
Simpsons did it. After the show was already dead. After their 10th season they were already milking a dead cow. Friends still had millions of viewers in their final season. And if the movie is a success, awesome. If not, im sure it wont suck as much and indiana jones IV
sex and the city sucks btw. ;D

it’s for the best…cause the sitcom ran very well and der’s no doubt in the film. It will be a hit…even though it may not be as good as the sitcom, it’ll surely be popular because of its huge publicity and popularity. even though, (if) it sucks, i don’t care, i’ll watch it 4 sure

You know th e sad thing is these woderful actors left this great show to pursue bigger and better things.. what they didn’t realize is that they had hit upon a dream that many of us ordinary people never get to.. if you’re good at someting why change it? These guys are all wonderful with the comedy and there is nothing wrong with sticking to it.. just so they know I’ll be the first in lne tobuy a ticket to Friends Movie and the first one to get the DVD when it comes out!
