Is the World of Synchronized Swimming Funny?

Disney and producer Scott Rudin, who recently won the best picture Oscar for No Country for Old Men, are developing Synchronicity, a new comedy that will poke fun at the world of synchronized swimming.

The Hollywood Reporter says the project will center on male synchronized swimmers and is said to follow in the steps of past sports comedies from the likes of Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller.

The movie had been stalled in development at Disney before Rudin stepped in recently to jump-start the project. Synchronicity also offers the opportunity for at least two bankable male leads.

Marty Scott and Toni Kotite have been hired to pen the screenplay.
