Jason Statham faced some pretty crazy things in Crank, but in a recent interview with i09 Statham revealed that the upcoming sequel, Crank: High Voltage, will up the ante considerably.

“High voltage is an understatement,” he said about the movie. “They locked themselves in a room for three days with five bottles of tequila and wrote the most offensive, outrageous script I’ve ever read.”

“They (Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor) have all the capabilities of making it the crazy action movie that they wanted. It’s like Crank 1 but times 1,000.”

Statham’s statement makes sense. I mean any flick with a subtitle of “High Volatge” better be outrageous. You can head on over here to check out the latest image from the sequel, which opens next April.

As a side note, the directors of the movie, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, were recently on The Moving Blog Uncut and revealed some news about Jonah Hex, their upcoming adaptation of the John Albano comic. It seems Thomas Jane, the fan favorite for the lead role, won’t be a part of the movie.

You can watch the full Uncut interview with Neveldine and Taylor here. The duo also talk about their other upcoming action flick, Game.
