Leterrier Lands Clash of the Titans

Warner Bros. has hired Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier to helm Clash of the Titans, a remake of the 1981 film of the same name that will use green screen techniques similar to Zack Snyder’s 300, says Variety.
In Titans, Perseus, the son of Zeus, must overcome a series of obstacles to save his beloved Princess Andromeda, including cutting off the serpent-tressed head of Medusa, who can turn a man to stone with a single glance.
The original starred Harry Hamlin as Perseus and Laurence Olivier as Zeus but is best remembered for Ray Harryhausen’s visual effects that brought to life Medusa, the Kraken and other creatures.
An updated version has been in development at the studio for some time, with Basil Iwanyk producing through his Thunder Road banner. Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strike Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark) penned the screenplay.
At one point Stephen Norrington (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) was attached to direct.
