Mark Ruffalo Joins Scorsese’s Shutter Island
Some casting news for Scorsese’s next outing behind the camera. It appears that Mark Ruffalo has joined Shutter Island, and will star opposite Scorsese’s got-to guy Leonardo DiCaprio. I’m still cheering Rufflao’s performance in Zodiac earlier this year, so I’m glad to see his next project will be with the unstoppable duo of Scorsese and DiCaprio. We get plot details from The Hollywood Reporter:
In Laeta Kalogridis’ adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s 2004 novel, Ruffalo will play U.S. Marshal Chuck Aule, who travels with his new partner (DiCaprio) to the eponymous Massachusetts island in 1954. As they investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane, they encounter a web of lies, a hurricane and a deadly inmate riot that leaves them trapped on the island.
Shutter Island starts shooting in March.
