Mark Wahlberg Talks Max Payne

Max Payne, the latest Hollywood video game adaptation, is set to arrive in theaters this October and the film’s star, Mark Wahlberg, recently talked with MTV about the flick.

“I read the script and said either somebody got really creative or it’s actually more like a movie than most games,” Wahlberg enthused.

“Max Payne is not a one-trick pony. It’s probably one of the edgier roles I’ve played but also the most layered. Here’s a very happy guy who worked a dismal job, had a beautiful family. But the beauty in his life was taken away. He just goes on a rampage. It’s all driven by emotion.”

The movie follows a DEA agent (Wahlberg) whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin (Mila Kunis) out to avenge her sister’s death. The duo are hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation as they try and solve series of murders in New York City. The folks over at Slash Film also just got some new set photos, one of which you can check out below. Head over here for the rest.
