Midnight Meat Train Going Straight to DVD

If you’ve been anxiously waiting to see the latest Clive Barker adaptation, Midnight Meat Train, it looks like you’ll finally get your chance. Just don’t plan on seeing this at the multiplex. It looks like this new horror flick, which sees a young photographer following up on a series of brutal subway killings, will by-pass the theater and instead head straight to DVD.
Horrormovies.ca breaks the news:
LionsGate / Maple Pictures emailed me last night to let me know that Midnight Meat Train will not get a theatrical release. It will be going straight to DVD despite all the fan buzz and hype for its release. This is despite earlier reports that it would be in theatres this May.
I haven’t really been excited about the flick, but can say it is a little surprising to see it go straight to DVD. Judging by the trailer it looks far better than anything that you find debuting on disc, and features a decent enough cast. It was also reported by Bloody Disgusting earlier this week that the movie has dropped the Meat and is now going by Midnight Train.
In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the trailer for the flick.
