More Talk of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair

The Kill Bill films rock, and easily some of the most enjoyable in recent years. Seeing Kill Bill vol. 1 in a packed theater on opening night still ranks as one of the most enjoyable movie going experiences I’ve ever had. With all that being said, both Vol. 1 and 2 still don’t have a place on my DVD shelf. I’ve been (and I’m sure most people have) holding out for the long rumored Whole Bloody Affair special edition.

There’s been tentative release dates before, at one time Amazon even had the uber-package listed on their site for a release last November – it never came, and every once and a while someone (usually QT) will mention the deluxe set. Well, it’s been mentioned again, and this time by the bride herself, Uma Thurman.

The actress recently spoke with MTV and cleared up some details on the, also long rumored, Kill Bill anime project, saying it won’t focus on The Bride (possibly Bill?) and that it might be showing up on the long awaited DVD.

It looks as if we’ll get to “see” real soon, perhaps as part of an expanded DVD release, Thurman teased, indicating that the short will be part of a larger re-release for “Kill Bill.”

“Right now he’s putting the two films together with an intermission with an added anime sequence he had already written,” she said of the ongoing saga of Beatrix Kiddo. “So additional stories are in there, in animation.”

Not really much to go on, just enough to kick-start the rumor mill. Fingers are, once again, crossed.
