Seth Gordon Set for Suicide Squad

Seth Gordon, director of the brilliant documentary King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, has signed on to helm Suicide Squad for Working Title Films and Universal.
The flick follows a desperate con man, out on the latest of many paroles, as he recruits a crew of amateur criminals to rip off the Kentucky Derby. Brothers Matt Eddy and Billy Eddy have written the most recent draft of Chris Johnson’s original script.
Tim Bevan (Atonement) and Eric Fellner (Hot Fuzz) will produce for Working Title. The U.K. production company has a production deal at Universal and recently produced Definitely, Maybe and the forthcoming Frost/Nixon.
Gordon’s fictional feature directorial debut is the upcoming Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon comedy Four Christmases.
He’s also working on a fictional take of his Kong documentary and recently updated the status of that film with First Showing. You can read more on that here.
