Back in June it was announced that Zack Snyder was developing a new sequel/prequel to the box office hit 300. At the time no story details were revealed, but the folks over at IESB have now uncovered what the flick will be about.

The site spoke with Snyder at a recent event showcasing footage from Watchmen, and the director confirmed that the flick will in fact be both a sequel and a prequel.

Snyder also said it will take place between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea, the battle that narrator Dilios is at while re-telling the story of King Leonidas and the mighty Spartans to a new group of warriors at the end of 300. There is a whole year between the battles to explore. And that is where we will find this film.

He added that he’ll definitely be directing the flick and Frank Miller will be writing and drawing the graphic novel that the second film will be based on.

Once Miller completes the book they will delve into writing a script for the movie.
