According to The Daily Telegraph, Hugh Jackman, Hugo Weaving and Ryan Kwanten (HBO’s True Blood) have signed on to lend their voices to Guardians of Ga’Hoole, the upcoming animated film being directed by Zack Snyder.

The project was first announced in April and is being developed by Village Roadshow and Warner Bros. It’s based on the series of children’s books written by Kathryn Lasky and illustrated by Richard Chowder.

The series is set in the Forest of Tyto, where Barn Owls live in peace until their kingdom is threatened by an evil that could destroy their home.

The script was written by John Orloff (A Mighty Heart) and John Collee (Happy Feat, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World). The film is being produced by Zareh Nalbandian.

There are a total of fifteen books. The most recent, “The War of the Ember”, was released in October. The movie is based on the first three novels and is due in theaters in 2010.
