While Michael Cera has Harold Ramis’ Year One, Youth in Revolt, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and the long rumored Arrested Development movie all on the horizon, he’s quietly been filming Paper Hearts, an independent film that is expected to debut at next year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Even though little is known about the film (it’s absent from Cera’s IMDB page and other databases), according to the Hollywood Reporter it’s expected to be a hot commodity when it finally debuts at Sundance. Along with Cera it apparently boasts other credits from Judd Apatow’s talent stable.

Those familiar with Hearts describe it as part-documentary, part-scripted comedy about the meaning of love and the real-life relationship between Cera and his girlfriend, Charlyne Yi, another member of the Apatow acting crew, best know for portraying the stoner on the couch with the annoying laugh in Knocked Up.

Yi also wrote the film and like Cera’s recent Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist, music is said to play a key role.

Nicholas Jasenovec, a relative unknown who has worked on past Apatow titles and director of the Bill Hader short film Sounds Good to Me: Remastering the Sting, makes his feature directing debut with the project.

Stay tuned for more on this mysterious project as it comes in.
